Figure Sculpture
Artist Statement: This was designed to be metaphorical of metal bursting from beneath the ground. It was meant to represent the industrial age o humans, and the beginning from one of our most used materials.
Description: It is a wire hand, coming from a grey, red, orange, and yellow base. Mixture of colors looks a little like fire.
Analysis: Uses interesting colors and maintains balance. Could use a little work on compositional choice in regards to balancing the base with focus.
Interpretation: Well I kind of ruined the surprise of what the meaning was but it still stands. It was designed to put a point on the destructive beginning of the industrial age, bringing forth all that we have now.
Judgement: I'm not too much of a fan of this piece. It feels like there was too much emphasis on the base and not enough focus on the actual focus (the hand).
