The Pre-Instruction Vessel
Artist Statement: My piece was originally going to be a mug, until I noticed half way in the project, I noticed a minor indent on one side. From this, I pulled outward a little and thus it became a medium sized gravy dispenser.
Description: I can see that it is colorless, in its bone dry stage. It has a large, thin handle and a very long indent in the dispensary.
Analysis: No color used. Texture is mediocre, and poorly implemented. Somewhat balanced, however the handle causes major imbalance.
Interpret: The piece has a practical purpose rather than an analytical one. Used to dispense things other than beverages, such as condiments and ingredients (although I happen to crave potatoes and gravy every time I look at it).
Judgement: I do not like it. Between the over sized handle and the narrow dispensary part, it seems very impractical to use, not to mention, it doesn't look aesthetically pleasing.
